Beat Lawro - number eight

Current Standings:

7 weeks played, 66 matches

Lawro - 38 right, 7 perfects - 26 points
Tarquin - 40 right, 7 perfects - 32.5 points

Bolton v Tottenham

Bolton v Tottenham

We have had four draws out of 66 games - virtually one in every two gameweeks - we're due a couple - I think this, considering Tottenham's away performances and Bolton's efforts (why is there still Megson hate?), will be one of them

Lawro: 1-1
Tarquin: 1-1

Burnley v Birmingham

Burnley v Birmingham

I don't think Burnley's home form can hold up all season, they will tire and teams will adjust, they don't have the strength of Stoke or Fulham last season, but they will beat Birmingham, who won't provide a threat on goal

Lawo: 2-1
Tarquin: 2-0

Hull v Wigan

Hull v Wigan

Difficult to call, but despite that Hull are my second most successful team, shame about Wigan - I had Bramble on the bench! Stupid lazy millionaires... oh, I'm going for a draw

Lawro: 2-1
Tarquin: 1-1

Wolves v Portsmouth

Wolves v Portsmouth

You've got to say Pompey deserved something last week, and they have to get points at some point - although their team remains incredibly weak, and I'm not sure if they can achieve any sort of consistency without many premier league-quality players - If it ain't broke, don't fix it, I say - Wolves win

Lawro: 1-1
Tarquin: 2-1

Man Utd v Sunderland

Manchester United v Sunderland

Is it just me or is Ryan Giggs the only thing saving United right now? Great for him - but how long can a 35-year old last? He's already shined in three games on the trot, the man must be tiring - he's some sort of god if not. Rooney is the only other main weapon in attack - Nani and Valencia are not looking brilliant, so it's basically down to one reliable player in Rooney, two old masters in Giggs and Scholes, and occasionally Carrick - doesn't bode well for the new year in my book, but this game I can see little else but a United win. Sunderland could produce something, but it's an outside chance, and no doubt if they're winning expect an equaliser a week later

Lawro: 2-0
Tarquin: 2-1

Arsenal v Blackburn
Arsenal v Blackburn

Arsenal - with allegations of bullying thrown in.

Did you know Arsenal have won every home game so far with four goals, and the only win where they didn't score four or more was at Fulham

Lawro: 3-0
Tarquin: 4-0

Everton v Stoke

Everton v Stoke

Everton have strikers now?? Blimey, well they're over their usual sluggish start, so I fully expect an Everton goal or two

Lawro: 2-0
Tarquin: 2-0

West Ham v Fulham

West Ham v Fulham

Tricky, Fulham were a match for Arsenal last week and didn't deserve to lose, but their away form is still questionable, meanwhile the Hammers have yet to win at home (ok, it was Tottenham and Liverpool) - I would think this'll be their first three home points

Lawro: 2-1
Tarquin: 1-0

Chelsea v Liverpool

Chelsea v Liverpool

Well, at least Lawro isn't a complete idiot - the odds are always in favour of a draw in these games - doesn't mean it won't be a whitewash, just that it's the best choice. Presumably the Chelsea defence won't do a Wigan and I think they'll be very much up for this, maybe Liverpool will be too after that midweek game?

Lawro: 1-1
Tarquin: 1-1

Aston Villa v Man City
Aston Villa v Manchester City

Oh joy, do you know the odds for this one? Villa 7/4, City 7/4...

Guess I'm going for a draw again

Lawro: 1-1
Tarquin: 1-1

Oh, wonderful - we disagree on two games! But it's not too bad I guess as we only totally agree on four, actually better than last week
