Beat Lawro Week 11

Standings:

10 weeks played, 96 matches
6-4 to Tarquin

Lawro - 49 right, 12 perfects - 29 points
Tarquin - 51 right, 9 perfects - 31.5 points

Well, last week was an unmitigated disaster, but we were hardly alone as only a handful of results weren't upsets, away we go:

---------

Arsenal v Tottenham
Arsenal v Tottenham (1245 GMT)

Can't see beyond an Arsenal victory here, at least on paper - with key players out for Spurs and their form dipping, but it's a local derby so I think the odds of 8/13 for a home win are a little short

Lawro: 2-0
Tarquin: 2-0

Bolton v Chelsea
Bolton v Chelsea

Chelsea have lost two away games on the trot, and have smashed everyone at home, so there's obviously some difficulty on the road right now, particularly at the back. Bolton lost 4-0 at Stamford bridge this week, but the reverse will be tighter I think - Chelsea have got to be favourites, but definitely room for an upset

Lawro: 0-2
Tarquin: 0-2

Burnley v Hull
Burnley v Hull

Burnley finally ended their impressive home run last week - they need to pick it back up now and defeat a fellow relegation hopeful in this six-pointer, a draw would help no-one, so I'm tempted to back it, but I think Burnley can pull out a performance to beat Hull

Lawro: 1-1
Tarquin: 1-0

Everton v Aston Villa
Everton v Aston Villa

Whinge, whinge, whinge - that's what Moyes and Neville have been doing all week - 'too many games in a week', well I say they know the way it works and that you need a big squad to contest three tournaments at once - their main bone of contention was having to play Spurs on a Tuesday because of Arsenal being televised, but really, this stuff is par for the course and they are suffering from injuries, while Villa look the better side with a solid defence and on the counter-attack they should take apart Everton - an unpredictable game, but I think Villa are the best choice

Lawro: 1-1
Tarquin: 0-1

Fulham v Liverpool
Fulham v Liverpool

Can I just point out that while Lawro is bigging up Liverpool's result last week, he actually said they'd draw. Speaking of draws, Liverpool haven't had one yet, and this should be a tight affair

Lawro: 1-2
Tarquin: 1-1

Man Utd v Blackburn
Manchester United v Blackburn (1730 GMT)

United, you know it, they should just have too much for Blackburn - but why is Lawro suddenly breaking his record and going for four? Blackburn won't be pushovers and how fit is Rooney? They'll win, but they won't rip them apart

Lawro: 4-0
Tarquin: 2-0

Portsmouth v Wigan
Portsmouth v Wigan

Wigan are a bit all over the place, but last week they took on Burnley and played well to win 3-1, they take their chances against Pompey then they can win there too, Pompey may be committed but they don't stand a chance if the opposition brings it to them, but the bottom-placed could really do with a result here, the next three games look rather nasty

Lawro: 2-1
Tarquin: 1-2

Stoke v Wolves
Stoke v Wolves

I just can't see Wolves breaking down Stoke, nor can I see them stopping Stoke scoring a few

Lawro: 2-1
Tarquin: 2-0

Sunderland v West Ham
Sunderland v West Ham

One had a dip in form, the other a rise in form, last week, so that makes this game slightly more interesting than it might have been - but this is a return to home for the Black Cats, where they have taken on all comers (except Chelsea) and an away trip for West Ham, where they are pretty rubbish, so unless the Hammers really have it up 'em then my money is on a Sunderland win (literally)

Lawro: 0-0
Tarquin: 2-0

Birmingham v Man City
SUNDAY
Birmingham v Manchester City

One of the trickiest ones this week I think, City have drawn the last three on the trot and don't seem to have that cutting edge finish at the moment, and Birmingham are pretty tough at home, but I'm going to give Hughes' boys the benefit of the doubt

Lawro: 0-2
Tarquin: 1-2
